Collectible Motor Car of Atlanta is pleased to offer this extremely-rare, elegant 1939 Chrysler Imperial. The Chrysler Imperial has a lineage of executive cars, being used for Presidential transportation, New York World's Fair, Diplomat and World Leader use. This Imperial lived a long, pampered life in Tennessee and now Georgia. The Chrysler is finished in Dark Blue over Blue Mohair with Cream Piping interior. Chrysler used seat cushions with individually wrapped springs; the padding was seamed like a mattress to retain its shape. There is carpet in the rear to accommodate luxury for the passenger along with rubber flooring in the front. There is no transmission "hump" due to the hypoid rear axle. The wide rear doors revealed large, comfortable chair-height sofa-seats, again designed for luxury and support.
This Imperial has the straight-eight, L-head engine producing 110 horsepower backed by the column-shift 3-speed manual transmission. The "Gold Seal" name was used for the high-compression eight-cylinder engines in the Imperial. A major reason for the stretched wheelbase in the Imperial was making room for those straight-eight engines. To reduce vibration, the engine was mounted on patented floating power mountings, located high in front and low at the rear so that the weight of the engine was in perfect balance. As a result, vibration was absorbed before it can reach the frame and body. The Chrysler has an older restoration that still shows very well with normal age and wear flaws, and runs/ drives rather well. The Imperial has the optional steel windshield visor and dual-mount spare tires. Between 1937-1939, only about 10,536 Chrysler's were built split between the Chrysler Newport, Saratoga and Imperial. some estimate that less than 2600 were 1939 Imperials and only about estimate of 200 had Dual Side Mount option. Do your research and discover how rare this car really is. Own a piece of history. These rare Chryslers aren't available for sale very often so don't delay, call today!
