Vsevolod Ivanovich Lavrenets-Semenyuk - designer of liquid-propellant engines, Hero of Socialist Labor, winner of the Lenin Prize.
Born February 24, 1918 in Kiev.
He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze (1941), worked as a design engineer at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant No. 39 of the USSR NKAP.
In 1942-1948 Design Engineer, Deputy Head of Department at Aviation Plant No. 99 of the USSR NKAP (Ulan-Ude).
Since 1948, he worked under the leadership of Valentin Petrovich Glushko at OKB-456 (now NPO Energomash named after academician V.P. Glushko), the city of Khimki, Moscow Region:
1950-1954 the head of the brigade of control and execution of drawing and design documentation,
since 1954 - a leading designer for the production of engines RD-213 and RD-214,
Since 1958 - Deputy Chief Designer of OKB-456 for mass production.
1968-1981 Deputy chief designer for planning, coordination and control of work.
since 1981 - leading designer of the coordination and control of work,
1982-1992 in the serial department, curator of the Kama branch.
He led the development of engines on high-boiling fuel components, carried out technical management of the development of engines RD-251 (8D723), RD-252 (8D724), RD-253 (8D43), RD-216M (11D614).
Candidate of Technical Sciences (1967).
For his active participation in the design and launch of the first spacecraft with a man on board, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of June 17, 1961, he was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor.
In 1960 he was awarded the Lenin Prize. He was awarded two Orders of Lenin (1959, 1961) and the Order of the Badge of Honor (1956).
He died on August 26, 2005. The urn with its ashes was buried in the Khimki cemetery
