This unit comes with a new upgraded, heavy duty aluminum rear case installed to resolve the "pump rub" issue common to the 246.
This unit has the splined shift selector where the encoder motor bolts up. There are two versions of this unit available (27 or 32 spline input). To make sure you are sent the correct version of this unit for your specific vehicle we will need to know the year, make, model, engine size, and transmission type of your vehicle. This unit is sold with no up-front core charge however it is sold on an exchange basis and we do require a core to be returned to us within 30 days of the delivery date.
THERE WILL BE NO WARRANTY UNTIL WE HAVE RECEIVED A RETURN CORE
.
The core must be the exact model that was sent to you to qualify for core credit. Condition of the core is not a factor in receiving core credit but the unit must be assembled and complete. A prepaid UPS return shipping label will be provided for you. The Gear Shop pays for the return shipping on the core.
All units come with an 18 month unlimited mileage parts warranty against manufacturer defects. 36 month extended warranties are available. Please contact us for warranty details and limitations before ordering.
Shipping and handling is 5.00 to the lower 48 states and will be sent via UPS ground freight FOB Baltimore. We do not ship to Alaska, Hawaii or international. Local pickup at our Baltimore facility is available with notice.
Returns may be made within 14 days of order date. No returns will be accepted if the unit has been installed in the vehicle, altered, modified, or damaged in any way. Return price will not include original shipping and the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping to us. A return authorization from The Gear Shop is required for any return to be accepted. A 20% restocking fee will be charged on all authorized returns.
Driveline problems can be at times difficult to diagnosis properly. It is very important that you are sure that your driveline issue is actually being caused by a transfer case failure and not some other failed component before ordering a reman unit. Once a unit is installed in your vehicle we will not accept it as a return so please make sure that you actually need a replacement transfer case before ordering.
