    Description

Station Telegraph Office Equipment Lot Withrow Minnesota Railroad Depot SOO LINE
This telegraph equipment all came from a relative of a  station agent who worked at the Withrow Minnesota Soo Line Railroad  depot.
    4 pieces of equipment
    1. Signal electric co or "Menominee" key and sounder (could be Bunnell) ,  20 Ohms stamped in wood  base
    2. Adjustable neck microphone used by telephone switchboard operators,
    3.  Western electric 60 ap signaling apparatus box sounder (heavy glass domed device)
It is a  "call" device. These were used on telephone lines to "ring" only one office. A series ofelectrical pulses was sent along the wire (with each pulse, the polarityflip-flopped) and the little wheel spun around and then ratcheted into place.Only the office with the correct numbered device would "lock" and then ring a telephone bell or buzzer to alert the operator that a call was waiting .Basically the precursor to"being put on hold.
    4. Telegraph sounder,(WU Telegraph Co inspected stamp on bottom)
You can see in my last photo, that I  took apart the adjustable neck microphone, I thought it safer shipping that way.
All  pieces in used, but decent condition, no broken parts that I noticed, glass dome in nice condition. I don't know much about telegraph stuff(just what I have been told about it) , it is untested and therefore.......
